Benefits at a glance:

  • Combine the functions of a residual current device (RCD) and a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) in a single device. This integration allows for both overcurrent protection and protection against earth leakage faults.

An RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent) protects against two kinds of fault by combining the functionalities of both MCBs and RCDs. In short, they protect circuits by tripping if they detect abnormal conditions or overcurrent, while also tripping to protect human lives in the event of earth leakage caused by contact with an exposed live wire.
