  • The Aico EI146E Smoke Alarm is a mains powered optical alarm designed to detect slow and smouldering fires (e.g., sofas and electrical fires), providing users with a warning when smoke is detected.
  • It has a slim modern white casing profile that blends excellently with the aesthetic of modern spaces.
  • The AICO EI146E is designed to be more reactive to heat rather than smoke, making it resistant to fumes such as burnt toast, making it most ideal for use areas susceptible to nuisance alarms such as the kitchen.
  • For enhanced fire detection, the alarm comes with a high performance optical smoke chamber with a fitted integral insect resistant screen which automatically self-tests every 40 seconds, causing the unit to beep – thanks to the integrated Piezo-electrical sounder – when the battery back-up is depleted and needs replacing, providing advance warning to unit (the smoke chamber) degradation, as well as reducing unwanted tripping, and helping to reduce the chance of false alarms.
  • The smoke alarm contains a replaceable 9V alkaline battery back-up that lasts up to 4 years when in stand-by mode and can power the alarm for up to 2 years without mains power, hence the 9V alkaline battery ensures a long-lasting battery life so there is no need to change the battery for the duration of its 10-year operation life.
  • In addition, the alarm can be hardwire interconnected or RadioLink wirelessly interconnected with other Aico alarms and accessories.
  • The RadioLink wireless interconnection allows for a less disruptive and seamless interlinking with other Aico alarms.
  • Interconnection to other Aico Ei mains powered alarms means that an alarm on one unit will trigger all other interconnected alarms.
  • The Aico EI146E comes supplied with an easi-fit tamper proof base which automatically connects the mains power and battery, enabling a quick and simple installation, saving users time and money in the application process.
  • The alarm also comes with a bult-in fast response thermistor sensor, automatic dust compensation, LED indicators – Green for power and Red for the alarm/fault, and a test/hush button.
  • The test/hush button simulates a high temperature to check the device, horn feature, and thermistor, particularly handy for controlling false alarms.
  • The smoke alarm also has a 69% reduction in power consumption and energy usage compared to the now outdated and discontinued Aico Ei46RC alarm.
